English Delftware Charger – Flowers, Rock and Insect

English tin glazed pottery dish, c. 1760. Similarly decorated pieces have been attributed to Bristol manufacture.
 
Dimensions: Approximately 12” diameter.
 
Decoration:
The dish is decorated with a naïve cobalt blue design of large flowers, a rock, and a flying insect that could be a butterfly. It is painted in the free-hand style of decoration found in 18th century English delftware.
 
The reverse is undecorated and bears evidence of kiln spurs.

Condition: Frits, fleabites, and crazing typical of antique tin-glazed earthenware. Otherwise in excellent condition consistent with age and usage. Please examine the photos; they are part of the description.
