Chinese Export Famille Rose Mythical Beast Bowl

Chinese export porcelain bowl, circa 1820.
 
Dimensions: Approximately 10” diameter.
 
Decoration:  
The rim has a brown edge that has a metallic bronze tone. This was achieved by adding a touch of gilding to the brown enamel.
 
The exterior of the bowl is decorated with large and small creatures on a light blue band decorated with flowers.
 
The interior is decorated with a wide band of leaves and vines with a large flower ornament at the center.
 
The base is undecorated.
 
Condition: Three hairlines from the rim to the body and small repainted area on the exterior rim visible under black light, minor rubbing to enamels, minor kiln discoloration on the interior, restored frit on the footrim; otherwise in excellent condition consistent with age and usage.
