Chinese export porcelain famille rose armorial plate, circa 1740.
Dimensions: Approximately 9”.
Decoration:
Floral sprays and crest on rim.
Spearhead border on cavetto.
Elaborate arms of Crawfurd family in center, with crest and motto: “Fide et Diligentia”. The family later changed the spelling of its name to “Crawford”.
Reverse is unmarked, with residue from old label.
This service was likely made for Henry Crawfurd III of Monorgon.
