18th C. Chinese Export Fitzhugh Sauce Tureen

Blue and white Fitzhugh pattern Chinese export porcelain sauce tureen, circa 1790.
 
Dimensions: Approximately 7½” long (incl. handles) x 5½” tall (incl. lid).

Decoration: 
Both the lid and body have the typical Fitzhugh border pattern of a trellis diaper with spearheads and dumbbells.
 
They also have the typical Fitzhugh decoration of four sprays of chrysanthemums and peonies surrounding a central medallion.
 
The lid has a floral knopf. 
 
Condition: Under black light it appears that one of the handles has been repaired; otherwise in excellent condition consistent with age and usage.
