18th C. Chinese Export Plate for the American Market
Chinese export porcelain plate, circa 1790.
The plate is ornately decorated, including the use of substantial gilding.
The rim is molded and decorated primarily with a band of blue and gold figures.
The cavetto is decorated with a blue and gilt diaper pattern.
In the center is a basket of flowers enclosed by a wreath of what may be laurel branches.
The back is undecorated.
In excellent condition consistent with age and usage.
