English tin-glazed earthenware plate, circa mid-18th Century.
Dimensions: Approximately 8¾” diameter.
Decorated in a cobalt blue naïve hand-painted design.
The rim is bordered with a diaper and dot pattern interspersed with panels of wavy lines enclosing alternating flowers and stars.
The center has a Chinoiserie garden scene of a woman sitting on a fence surrounded by willow trees.
The reverse is unmarked.
Condition: There is a professionally restored rim repair, and there are glaze fleabites and frits typical of antique tin-glazed earthenware. Otherwise in excellent condition consistent with age and usage.
