18th C Worcester “Queens Pattern” Cup and Saucer

Worcester porcelain cup and saucer, circa 1780.

 

Dimensions: The saucer is approximately 4½” in diameter.
                          The cup is approximately 2⅞” in diameter x 2“.

 

Decoration:

Both pieces are decorated with alternating blue and polychrome panels.

 

The narrower blue panels contain a red and white mon and gold filigree. The polychrome panels contain branches and flowers.

 

The center of the saucer is decorated with the same red and white mon and is bordered with a blue band outlined in gold.

 

The base of the cup is decorated with the same band and the interior of the cup is decorated with the same mon.

 

The base of each bears a blue painted mark used by Worcester between 1765 and 1790.
