18th Century Chinese Export Famille Rose Sauce Boat & Tray
Famille rose sauce boat and undertray, circa 1760.
The sauce boat has a molded body. Its edge is gilded, and the outside has a complex diaper and fish row border with flowers and ribbons. The inside has a gilt spearhead border and the bottom is decorated with flowers. The base is undecorated.
The tray is leaf-shaped. Its edge is also gilded, and its sides have the same border as the exterior of the sauce boat. Its center has the same gilt spearhead border and floral decoration as the interior of the sauce boat. The base is unglazed.
Dimensions: Sauce Boat - approximately 9¼” long (incl. handle) x 4½” wide x 2½” high.
Undertray - approximately 9” long x 6¼” wide.
Condition: Professional restoration to both.
