Chinese Export Armorial Plate - Watson
Chinese export porcelain plate c. 1770.
Dimensions: Approximately 9 " diameter.
Decoration:
The rim of the plate is decorated with floral sprays and bears the crest of Admiral John Watson on the rim.
The cavetto is decorated with a spearhead band.
The center of the plate has a central floral spray.
The reverse is undecorated.
Admiral Watson was Commodore of the Fleet of the East India Company.

Condition: Flea bites on back of the rim; glaze hairline on back (not visible from front); otherwise in excellent condition consistent with age and usage. Please examine the photos; they are part of the description.
