Chinese Export Armorial Small Plate or Saucer – Wight or Bradley

Chinese export porcelain plate, circa 1820.
 
Dimensions: Approximately 6 ¼” in diameter.
 
Decoration: 
A finely painted domestic scene covers the entire surface of the plate. 
 
A coat of arms dominates the center. 
 
This style of overall decoration is very unusual.
 
The reverse is unmarked.
 
The service is illustrated and discussed in Howard, “Chinese Armorial Porcelain”, Vol. 1., at p.787.
 
A pair of plates from this service was sold at Stair’s January 23, 2024, sale, “The Collection of Ann and Gordon Getty”.
 
Condition: Hairline; otherwise in excellent condition consistent with age and usage. Please examine the photos; they are part of the description.
