Chinese Export Cup & Saucer with New York State Arms
Chinese export porcelain cup and saucer, circa 1790.
Dimensions:
Cup approximately 3½” diameter.
Saucer approximately 5⅜” diameter.
Decoration:The rim of each is bordered with a blue band edged with gold and gilt stars.
The body of each is decorated with the arms of New York State depicting the figures of Liberty and Justice flanking a cartouche with a floral sprig, and with an eagle perched above and a banner below.
The base of each is undecorated.
