Chinese Export Portuguese Market Armorial Egg Cups - Barros
A pair of Chinese export egg cups. Guangxu period, last quarter 19th century.
Dimensions: Approximately 2¼” tall x 1⅞” diameter.
The execution of the decoration of these small objects is impressive.
The interior rim is decorated with a floral band.
The body has a pair of five-toed dragons, one oranged and one green, chasing flaming pearls and the family coat-of-arms.
The foot has a pair of coins alternating with a pair of vignettes.
The Portuguese arms are of Alberto de Magalhães Barros and Lanços Cerqueira de Araujo Queiroz.
Condition: In excellent condition consistent with age and usage. Please examine the photos; they are part of the description.
