English tin glazed pottery dish, c. 1730. Similarly decorated plates have been attributed to Bristol manufacture.
 
Dimensions: Approximately 10⅝” diameter.
 
Decoration:
The dish is decorated with a naïve cobalt blue design of a Chinese boy chasing a flying insect in a landscape of trees and a large rock. It is painted in the free-hand style of decoration found in 18th century English delftware.
 
The reverse is undecorated and bears evidence of kiln spurs.
