Spode scalloped edge porcelain plates c. 1883.

 

Dimensions: Each approximately 8¼” in diameter.

 

Decoration:

Each plate is individually decorated with turquoise enamel and a gilt design including insects, leaves, and grasses in a Japanese influenced style.

 

The plate edges are also gilded.

 

The reverse of each plate bears the printed Spode Copeland mark introduced in 1883.

 

The reverse of two of the plates bears a faint painted pattern number that appears to be “I 3633 E”. That number would be within the pattern range for 1883.

 

Condition: Wear to gilding on edge, minor wear to the turquoise enamel; otherwise in excellent condition consistent with age and usage.
