"India Temple" Transferware Platter

Staffordshire transferware platter with a molded gadroon border by John and William Ridgway, circa 1825.
 
Dimensions: Approximately “19” x 16 ⅝".
 
Decoration: 
The border is decorated with alternating floral sprays and diaper cartouches.
 
The center is decorated with a scene of a Chinese harbor or river with several boats or junks and a large temple.
 
The reverse bears the printed mark “India Temple Stone China J.W.R.” and various labels.
 
The pattern is copied from a 1753 by Matteo Ripa from an earlier engraving that was based on a painting by Shen Yu. The caption under the engraving reads "The Figure of Heaven is all Delightful--A View of the Temple serv'd by Eunuchs, & of the delicious Round Island it stands upon".
This refers to an area in the Chinese emperor's summer palace at Gehol (sometimes spelled Jehol; modern name Chengde), about 106 miles north of Beijing.
