Chinese export porcelain Imari pattern molded dish, c. 1700 – 1720.

 

Dimensions: Approximately 5” x 4½”.

 

Decoration:  

The shell-shaped body is edged in gold and is decorated in Imari designs in underglaze blue with overglaze iron red and gilt highlights.

 

The raised cup holder decorated with an iron red and gilt central flower design.

 

This piece was part of Lot 492 in Christie’s New York June 2, 2005, sale (Sale #1528).

 

Condition: Glaze flaw on front, wear to gilt, fritting, age related wear on reverse; otherwise in excellent condition consistent with age and usage.
