Pair 19th C. Chinese Export Canton Plates with Decorative Borders
Chinese export blue and white octagonal shaped Canton plates. 19th Century.
Dimensions: Each approximately 9” diameter.
The rim has a shaded trellis spearhead and dumbbell pattern border interspersed with fish roe panels that is surrounded by a fish roe style band.
The central scene is surrounded by a curlicue band and consists of pavilions, trees, a lake, and a bridge with two figures.
This is a very decorative pair because of the octagonal shape and the unusually decorated
Condition: Minor glaze flaws, otherwise in excellent condition consistent with age and usage.
