Pair of 18th C. Chinese Export Famille Rose Plates with Crest & Monogram
$0.00Price
A pair of famille rose plates with a crest and monogram, c. 1780.
Dimensions: Approximately 9½” diameter.
The edges have an unusual gilt feather design interlinked with bows or knots.
On the rim there is a crest consisting of a winged arrow above a gilt monogram that is surrounded by crossed stems of leaves.
The cavetto is bordered in a gilt ribbon with interspersed floral sprays.
The center has a floral bouquet tied with a ribbon and three floral sprays.
I have not been able to identify the crest or the monogram. The overall feel of the decoration seems European rather than English.
Condition: In excellent condition consistent with age and usage.
