Horse and Deer Staffordshire Brackets or Shelves
A pair of Staffordshire brackets in the form of a deer head and a horse head, c. 1870.
Dimensions: Each approximately 10” tall x 8’ wide x 7½” deep.
The features of each animal painted lifelike colors.
The brackets are in cream with gilded highlights.
The reverse of each is unmarked.
Condition: Losses to gilt highlights, minor fritting. It appears that the base of the deer may have been cleanly broken and professionally restored, Both are in excellent visual condition and are in excellent condition consistent with age and usage.
