Chinese Export Grisaille Pseudo-Armorial Reticulated Plate
Chinese export porcelain reticulated plate, circa 1790.
Dimensions: Approximately 8⅜” x 7⅜”.
Decoration:
The rim and the cavetto are decorated in a grisaille and gold diaper pattern.
The center is bordered with a grisaille spearhead pattern and has an ornate pseudo-armorial grisaille and gold shield and swags. The center of the shield contains a complex and unidentifiable monogram.
The reverse is unmarked.
Condition: Kiln adhesions on foot rim, minor rubbing to gilding.; otherwise in excellent condition consistent with age and usage. Please examine the photos; they are part of the description.
